  • Mobile Broadband Could be the Answer for Families That Share a Computer but Also Have a Laptop

There are a lot of students that have arrived home from university at this time of year. They are used to having broadband at their disposal, whenever they want, at college. Now back in the ancestral home the provision broadband, at their parents address, can sometimes seem slow and limited. Never mind, that they may have to share the one ancient computer connected to it.

The answer to this problem is to be found by using the laptop that most students own. Internet without phone line is the easiest and most convenient way for them to gain access to the internet at the family home. They can then bypass the family computer and sharing an internet connection with mum and dad. A quick scan over the available dongles for laptops shows that having this technology is easy and the dongles are usually free. Connecting, to the internet, with them is as simple as choosing between a fixed contract or having one of the pay as you go dongles that are offered by most suppliers. This flexibility to have the access that you need, on your own terms, is excellent for the consumer and their ability to get what the need and not what a provider tells them that they can have.

The internet usage patterns of the younger generations are so radically different to their parents that this solution is almost certainly the best for all concerned. In the privacy of their bedrooms the sons and daughters can stream live films and download many music tracks. While downstairs, mum and dad can access the Sudoku websites and read the online news at the Guardian website happily ignorant of the other users in the house. Family harmony is then restored and the summer can proceed at a more relaxed and harmonious pace.
